Yup, 1040EZ and done. From a financial perspective, my life is incredibly simplistic.

22 pages. Best you.

DC return is a bit long, then I had some, shall we say business losses, and a 1099...

I'm still waiting on interest statements, my wife's w2, another one of mine, and 2 1099's.

I hate doing taxes. It's like an oil change to me. Satisfying when done, but I hate doing it (or in my case having it done).

I took a tax class in college a couple years ago. So confusing. There's so many ways to do everything.

That sucks.

And yeah, basically. But similar to an oil change, I prefer doing it myself. Have my grandpa review them afterwards.

Yeah, really. And then they design the forms to over explain and over complicate every issue that they become more difficult than they would have before. I got so pissed at the child tax credit form last year, it directed me to some incredibly drawn out worksheet that was damn near what I calculated already.

Mine was 9. Each of the independent tour companies I work for sends me a 1099. Plus the house, my wife's school, my school, and my company. It is horrid.

I thought the Gov. wasn't accepting returns until later this month?

I'll be buying a clutch setup with my return. It's so nice getting something back, I really prefer it over paying a little less each month and getting nothing.

For you 1040Ez folks, TurboTax actually has a free app that lets you take a pic of your W2 and will automatically do everything based on that.

Wow. That's really cool! I'll pass that along to my brothers.

I'm hoping for a big return this year. Had a kid, bought a house, still have my allowances at just me, not even married. I better get something darn it!

Tsk tsk. Update your allowances dude. No reason to let your money just sit there and do nothing for you. Since you've got the room in your budget to have some of it taken out, make sure your 401k contributions are at the max number that your company matches, then contribute to your Roth IRA. Let your money work for you instead of the IRS!

They don't start processing tax filings until January 30th, but I want to get my returns back ASAP, so I figured why not do them early (plus, it was a slow day at work...). I get a little bit of enjoyment knowing I have a little money coming back. Gives me the excuse to poke around the internet looking for deals on car parts.

I used TurboTax, but I didn't use their app. I just use their free online service, and since WA does not have a state income tax, I don't have to pay TurboTax a dime. Don't even have to pay them for direct deposit to my bank account.

He's looking. I thought I had all 6, but alas some vulture took one, leaving only 5 and he wants the whole set. PM him, pretty sure he does.

My company doesn't do any 401(k)/403(b) matching. They pay 10% into a pension fund without my paying a dime.
I started to max out my IRA and 401(k) but don't remember if I did or not... This tired thing is killing me.
Plus I got burned last year and owed like 3k...

I think Pelican has categories. You are randomly assigned one and from that point forward you get jelly beans, stickers, or coupons. But if you're a jelly bean guy you never get coupons. Or a coupon guy (like me) you never get jelly beans or stickers. And I want a dang sticker.
