When we lived and worked in the NY metro area, we carried a Life Hammer (http://www.amazon.com/LifeHammer-Ori...window+breaker), a bat, quarters and a PBA card.

Ha, just went to Harbor Freight in Dunwoody yesterday to pick up a compact floor jack and two jack stands. The boat trailer had a flat tire...

I also like the idea of a tarp, so many uses actually, thanks for the suggestion.

I'm sure how that'll help with.... Something .
I just think a lot of people go over board buying supplies for getting stranded, but forget about the mental side, a first aid kit only helps so much without the knowledge to go along with it.

Hahahahaha, I'm just playing man...very good point though. It's all the mental will to survive in the end.

Jumper cables.

Nylon tow strap.

Flares.

Warning triangle.

Rudimentary tool kit.

Leatherman.

Mobility kit.

Gallon of water and box of grandma bars.

Waterproof matches.

First aid kit.

Work gloves.

Flashlight.

Space blanket.

Folding shovel.

Condoms.

And anyone who carries a jack without a plywood or other rigid pad has never attempted to change a tire off pavement.
