Whistling sound resolved...

Took my car into the dealer to have the ASS re-code and to check a whistling sound coming from the passenger side A-pillar area when driving at highway speeds. Got the re-code done and the whistle resolved. It was the windshield side trim that was not tightly attached and would let air through a small gap hence the whistle. Attached is the technician's notes and a picture of the windshield trim.

Did they turn off ASS or program it to default to last user setting? The wording on the paperwork you attached says they turned it off.

Sorry about the wording. It was re-coded to last user setting, but as far as I'm concerned, it is now off.

Got it, thanks for the clarification. The reason I asked is because my dealer told me back in August that they couldn't change it to last user setting and they were not engineers. I haven't been back to that dealer since.

Don't blame you - that SA probably didnt know about the re-coding. When I brought my car in, I showed the SA a copy of SIB 12-15-12 and he wanted to make a copy of it. Saw him talking with a more senior SA who told him that it was covered under warranty, just need to get the ok from BMWNA. The service tech who took care of my car is a friend and he said BMWNA just needs a copy of the service order indicating the client requests the re-code and that the dealership is not doing it without the client request.
