Climate Timer

Hey guys,

I am wondering if the climate timer kills the battery in anyway or does the car have an internal timer that doesn't use the battery?

Are you talking about the feature where you are able to set a timer to turn on the fans and vent (or warm, if engine temp allows) the vehicle?
In that case, it's not the timer that might kill the battery, it's the fans spinning.
The timer is not going to kill the battery - it's nothing more than a tiny process running ont he car's computer, which never really shuts off completely.

Yes that's what I was wondering. I have it set for about 5 minute before I get in my car in the morning. I have never used the feature but am curious to try it out tomorrow morning.

I use this feature almost every day in the summer. Twice a day when I'm at work (lunch and after work). Never had any problems.

It depends on your Drivers profile if you drive a lot a very short distance trips it will cause havoc with your battery. If you have a longer commutes on a daily basis like +10 miles you'll be fine

I used the timer in 530d during winter time to turn on the webasto heater. It would not start when the battery was drained in certain percentage (I do not remember the %)

I believe it would work the same with the ventilation
