Indeed they do! Their speedy pro has remain largely unchanged since the 1950s and the 2500d is definitely a time tested movement. 8500 is definitely bulkier and more expensive with the longer service intervals. You're probably one of a few that actually knows about watch movements on this forum

Finally got this classic last month, but I am really underwhelmed. it only looks in place when you're dressed up. It will be replaced within a year.

This thread always makes me want to get a new watch. Damn you 'festers. ...I had to get my pearls restrung and don't you know I looked and drooled for a while at some beautiful watches.

Ill stick w my tag for now. I love this watch, but it's very simple. Wish it had a lil more bling or wow factor. It's great as a daily wear though.

Breitling, I've had it for over 17 years and I bought it for myself after graduating US Air Force pilot training. I had been wanting one and saved the money up while in pilot training as there wasn't a lot to do in Del Rio Texas besides study and act stupid on the weekends across the border in Mexico. I change the battery myself and I've never sent it back to the factory. Watch still works perfectly and keeps great time. They have gone way, way up in price since I bought mine and Breitling wants an outrageous amount to recondition it every few years. I would have spent way more money than I paid for it if I had done their routine maintenance.

I have a Breitling too. My last overhaul was two years ago and cost $650. Now my automatic watches sit in my safety deposit boxes at the bank. I wear a Casio G-Shock as my daily if I wear a watch at all.

I know I need to send mine back but it just keeps working perfectly. I go to Radio Shack about once a year and replace the battery and clean the rubber gasket. I'm going to see how long it runs without sending it back I guess but pretty happy with 17 years and I've worn it every single day.

Breitling makes some beautiful watches and every single time I look at the new one's I want one!

If they made a titanium Navitimer (with the titanium navitimer bracelet, not leather), I'd make that my goal for my next big birthday...

I have an Orient, an older version of what they now call the Journeyman. (We used to call it the Panda.) They are great watches. All in house mechanical movements which keep time just as good as the Swiss IMHO.

The main reason I don't wear mine much anymore is I've discovered Ball watches with the H3 tubes. The always on lume becomes quite an addition!
