New top

2004 Z4 2.5....... Top was damaged, had replaced, they did a great job, but there is more cabin noise now. Any suggestions... Doesn't leak, seems tight. It has a head liner. Is it possibly not as insulated. Anyone else had the same problem and is there a way to cut down on road noise

Drive with the top down then

Seriously, it takes very little material sticking into the airflow to make a lot of noise. Look at the fit at the top of the windshield and around the side windows. Years ago I had the noise drop after replacing the top on an old Triumph. Looked to me like the only difference was the after-market top material was a whole lot smoother than the factory rag.

Did you try turning up the radio?

Seriously! Take a look at the fit between the windows when they are rolled up and the new top, if there is a gap there it can result in noise?

Good luck

Thanks, I'll check that out. I also have an Alfa Spider, and your right, the smell, wind and the noise is just part of the experience
Thanks again for your responses.

It is part of the experinece....

I often pine for my long lost TR8, grumpy old beast that it was. Less so for the Fiat that came before it.

Good luck with the top.
