Looking for E36 Hardtop

Hi Everyone!

I am stoked that I bought a triple black 1999 BMW M3 Convertible last Saturday. It's got a manual transmission and was a blast to drive home ~300 miles - managed to get home without a speeding ticket!! It's my 5th BMW and exactly like my first one, except this one has the M3 engine and is a manual - definite improvement!

I'm looking for a removable hardtop and a windscreen. Does anyone have any suggestions on where I start to look?

Craigslist. Although they commonly are listed for $1000-$1500, I've recently (~year) seen two for $500 including the rack to hold it when it's off the car. It's best to drive TO THE SELLER to pick it up, since safe shipping will likely cost as much as the top itself.

I have a hard top for a 1997.. I don't know if it will fix yours though.

Congrats on joining us vert owners! The cheap windscreen is from Raceland. Be forewarned it's definitely a "you get what you pay" for product. The dimensional control sucks and you might have to go through a couple of exchanges to get one that actually fits correctly. After doing that dance a few cycles I bit the bullet and bought one of the BMW OEM windscreens. Approx. $350 but definitely worth it given the difference in quality over the Raceland version. There's also an Audi A4 windscreen that's very close in dimensions to the OEM model that will also fit. They pop up on CL from time to time for about $200 or so.

I appreciate the input on Raceland - wasn't sure where to look for the good one. I had a BMW OEM on my last vert and loved it! I got lucky when a guy stopped me entering a friend's housing development and sold it to me for $150.
