how much I should pay for 2012 X3 executive demo?

The local dealer has 2012 X3 with 6400mi. It is a executive demo. The market price is 46000, and the dealer asks for 39000. What would be a price you consider reasonably slick deal? Thanks

Probably shouldn't expect any (decent) answers without details (packages, options, etc). Did you try looking up in Edmunds, KBB, etc? Executive? Is that a better kind of demo?

I checked KBB. The private price is about the price the dealer offers. The trade-in price is about 2-3000 lower. The dealer insisted maybe another 500 lower is the best he can do.

by the way, this car has 2 years and 10months warranty. I plan to lease for 3 years so i don't think that will be a big problem, will it?

I hope it was not a "buy back" or "trade assist" kind of demo!

Hate to say it- Executive Demo- Real meaning

Vehicle that has had the piss beat out of it , not cared for, loaner, don't be fooled by the lipstick on the pig, it is still a pig !

No worries

My dealer gets a lot of executive cars and I found them to be in much better shape than other used cars and consequently fetch a higher price. There a some benefits to buying them because it is the first time the car has been titled so the warranty starts when you buy it. For $2k more, they'll certify the car so you get the CPO 100k mile warranty. If you select "previous destinations" on the NAV system you can see where the car is from and where it was driven - probably BMW HQ office in New Jersey. Yeah, I'm sure the break in period wasn't observed but I don't know anyone who drives bmws "gently". I had a good experience buying am executive X3, other than some rust on the wheels from salted roads in the northeast.

I don't know that I agree with this. I've had several loaners that I didn't beat the piss out of -- and I'd like to think that the warranty and the free maintenance would take care of any asshatery that took place. I think it mostly comes down to whatever you'd be comfortable with paying. I don't think a car should be treated like an investment that appreciates. Good, bad, or indifferent we all buy things that others either wouldn't buy, wouldn't by at such-n-such price, or would pay for more than someone else ($300k+ for that 60s era farm-found Austin Martin that reportedly turns over, but has rat nests...?)

+1! I have also found the service loaners to be quite decent and seemingly intact. I think it is the car itself that determines if it will be beat up on a continuing basis. Sure you will get one or two idiots that beat it up, but I believe the vast majority will drive it carefully while getting familiar with the car. That said however, I would probably not buy a Mustang Convertable "service loaner" or a 128 convert either.

The executive cars are assigned to one person who is high enough in the company to qualify for one - that is how it was explained to me. New car loan rates apply to these cars because they have not been titled, so that is extra savings.

Deal sounds like a good one with another 3k off. I wouldn't worry about it being a used vehicle.

We have had the best luck with Executive cars. We are currently driving yet another one. It's an X3 M Sport. We love, love, love it. We got an excellent deal.
