even though it was one of the most fun things i've ever done, I am not freakin caravaning down there during the day, on the day prior. This year's plan is going to be, to leave the house at around 4:30am on the day prior and get to Aberdeen some time in the early afternoon and hopefully avoid mid-day traffic in Jersey. I probably sweat out a couple liters of water roasting in stand still traffic with my AC turned off. It'd be nice to get set up in the hotel, and enjoy some adult drinks before everyone arrives, I didn't even touch an ounce of alcohol the whole time last year, partly because I got there late at night, and partly because my hotel was away from party central (The Hilton). I vote that we try and consolidate ourselves.

The Turner Caravan was a blast, though. I'm gonna catch up with them again. And don't even talk about sweating until you take the F'd up route Dino and I took without A/C.

Here is my impression of me trying to do that.
Go to bed. Then wake up two hours later. Shuffle to my car, turn it on and start drive. Fall asleep with in the first 1 min and crash into a tree. Then 8 hours later wake up confused as to why my room looks like my car.

I was legit worried when I lost you guys, i thought "oh great now i have to set my damn GPS and try to find some other young looking BMW drivers going the same way as me" I did though and we eventually hooked back up and all was well.

What was truly surprising about the whole trip was that my combined fuel usage was 1 and a half tanks, there, tooling around, and back.

I HAVE to avoid NY on the way home though. I don't know why I chose to go that way, it was the worst.

You're gonna have a hard time unless your car has teleportation.

well i didn't drive through NYC to get down there, we detoured through CT and on that fancy expressway. where there's a will there's a way. I'm going to try to see if I can get my brother or one of my friends to go this year to show them what they're missing out on.

Oh, you can avoid NYC, but you can't avoid NY.

Usually it's still faster to go through NYC, though. Just gotta suck it up. 95 through that area really is the worst thing though. I think that one stretch through the Bronx was named as the worst section of highway in the US.

I remember that.

And yeah, that highway is called the Merritt Parkway. It's an ancient scenic road from back in the day.

Is there really anything worth caring about in NY besides the city anyway?
