Code P0720
Have a 2003 BMW 525i with 159k miles. Just spent $4k getting things fixed: Crank case, cracked engine mounts, intake valves, and other things. We just got the car detailed to sell it and wouldn't you know, Service Engine Soon light comes on. Went to Pep Boys and had the code read: P0720. Found multiple scenarios on Bimmerfest, but looking for more concrete answers. Tired of blowing money. Car rides fine with no transmission effects. Software was reset about 3 weeks ago due to jolt that happened when slowing at 12 mph. Help please.

Thanks Fudman. I was hoping not to have to take it in. I bought a code reader and received the same code. Erased it and it comes back after 1-2 drive cycles. I guess it will be headed back to the shop again. Thanks for your post.
