Picked up E83 wheels and winter tires from salvage yard ( nice and gorgeous tire rack sports edition wheels) hoping they would for on my 2011 F25. Many threads on this forum suggest that they should fit . I also got new bolts ( M14x1.25) from tirerack . Alas they did not fit. - Calipers were too tight ( absolutely no clearance) and the wheel did not move at all. What am I missing ? Thought about wheel spacers and asked a local BMW indy about probable size of wheel spacers. He could not help either.
Technical details : Basic wheel specifications for the X3(F25) chassis are: Bolt Circle = 5 X 120mm Offset = 45mm (43 to 47mm acceptable) Hub centering Bore = 72.5 mm (hub ring dia. = 72.47mm) Bolts = M14X1.25 Spherical seat, 17 mm heads (Note the X3(E83) uses M14X1.5 bolts) Minimum bolt engagement = 9.5 turns For E83 all same except the bolt sizes Bolt Pattern: 5x120 | Center Bore: 72.56 | Hardware:12x1.50 Bolt | Offset: 34-45mm ============== Also, I could see the wheel after mounting it that it not flush against the hub , where as my OEM wheels are!. Thoughts , before I put wheel and tires on craigslist. |
