hahahaha that car will never sell for that. For one, it's not an M3. secondly, no where does he ever say the true known mileage of the car. Thirdly, the french'd high beams are not factory. I've never heard the E30 325i convertible referred to as a "porsche killer". the leather is cracked, if you bothered to do a bare metal resto, why not do the whole car. "over 20k invested" cry me a ****** river dude, car's are known to be the worst investment besides a boat you'll never recoup that investment. it doesn't even have the nicer non-diving board bumpers.

I saw that you have an E30 Convertible for sale. I was wondering a couple things: are you the original owner? And has the cooling system, head gasket, valve cover seals, radiator, water pump been replaced? Is the car for sale still? Do you have all service records since owning the car?

And a quick update, I am taking a look at the 325is M-Tech car on Sunday. If all is good, I will be making an offer and probably buying it. I have to admire the fact that the car lasted 330K in miles. If it drives well, all the better. If not, I may do the car justice and finish the car with an S50 engine. Or should I leave it as is and just rebuild the original engine? Or maybe get a 2.8 in there?

yeah you have to read from the bottom up The guy selling it is sniffing glue because even if that were an E30 M3 in similar condition, it would be worth 18-20k based on the mileage. But it's not an M, worse yet it's a vert, with a visibly aged interior and some bold claims of the resto, and no listed mileage.

18k for an E30?!

And I thought *I* was optimistic with my list prices for cars.

I am in Silver Spring, MD. I am going to Bimmerfest as well! I was thinking about bringing my 318i (I love that car to death). The 318i is my first BMW I ever did a full maintenance and bushing/shocks refresh on using just the Bentley Manual and Youtube.com. So it has a soft spot with me.

Damnit... I been bit by the E36 bug. First the 96 318i, then the M3, and now this (provided all goes well). I swore I never would get bit, but I'm a lost cause now. I guess I will sell the Subaru Legacy Wagon. She is my old faithful with nearly 300K on it and still looks showroom clean.

So now the question is, how can I find out what number this car is, out of the 150 produced? And how many is left? I know you could find that stuff on a lot of the Porsche registry pages 7 days a week, all day Sunday, but does BMW have a similar thing?

According to that BMW CCA forum you can just call BMW and they can look it up for you. Not sure if they were numbered or not though.

I know the production number of the car should be within the VIN. If I could figure out what the numbers in the VIN are, I could find the answer myself. If not, I will just call BMW.

Well, I went and saw the 325is m-tech and the car was nice, but the interior needed work. I offered him 2750 for it, but he said someone would buy it for 3 grand. So I just told him to let me know tomorrow if the guy buys it. Stay tuned.
