Aftermarket radio, anti theft?

So a few questions

my antitheft system does not work.. I bought the car with an aftermarket radio installed, do I need stock radio for it to work?

Can I use any stock radio?

antitheft for what? the car or the stereo?

if its an aftermarket stereo, the anti theft of the old stereo is irrelevant because it doesnt exist anymore.....

Huh? You mean car "alarm"? The car alarm and the theft protection on the original radio are mutually exclusive.
I have an aftermarket Alpine unit and until recently a functional alarm. The only reason my alarm is no longer functional is that on two occasions it has gone off for no reason (suspect a door switch) I disabled it by pulling the fuse under the passenger seat (left side).
If your alarm is not working, it is possible the previous owner also had alarm issues and pulled the fuse to it.

I feel like such an idiot, all I had to do was re-program my key-fob

yessir.

If your key fob is not working (i got these instructions off of another forum)
turn key to position 1 for less than 5 seconds
pullout before 5 seconds
Hold down unlock button
press lock button 3 times while holding lock
your doors will unlock and lock

Your keyfob should be working again!
