Question How would you change the color of OEM Halo eyes?

I have a 2012 335i Coupe (E92). It currently has the OEM headlighst which are Halo eyes. I was wondering if there was a way to change the color of them without buying new headlights?

Any help appreciated.

Check with some of the sponsors, many sell bulbs of various types... Although i think your choices would be limited... Can't use blue or red, the cops would not appreciate that, and most other colors I could imagine would look strange... Good luck!

Wait a minute, you have the LED corona rings and you want to change them????? To what?

The LED corona rings on a 2012 E92/E93 are about the best you can get.

Please explain.

Of course.
  1. Motor to your nearest Staples
  2. Purchase colored markers.
  3. Remove Angel Eye bulbs
  4. Use marker to apply the color you prefer.
  5. Reinsert bulb.

I like lime green. What's your color?

I don't want to change them... But it would be neat to have a device that could change the color that the halos output. Just for fun, I don't wanna change the lights out. I want to keep it OEM.

Like said above you could try the marker trick. Tried it myself just experimenting and it looked ok but not what I was looking for so I washed it off.

Painting the bulbs with nail polish may work. Motorcycle folks do it sometimes when they want to match an OEM colored bulb. For instance, BMW K-75's use green instrument panel bulbs, which are hard to come by.

I don't know if it will work as well on the higher wattage bulbs of the angel eyes. It may cause the bulb to break, or the polish may get too hot and scorch. But it's worth a try.

I haven't seen one that you can change on demand, which would be awesome.
I've seen some cars with red and blue halos. It's supposed to be against the law, but I see them a lot. Personally if it ain't flashing I don't know what the problem is.

I do recall driving and someone was flashing me with red high beam lights (on/off) repeatedly. Thought it was undercover cop. Then when he drove buy saw it was a generic van. Probably someone just put that on so they could push people aside....in their van...
