I am so confused about replacement headlight
One common thing about the ebay items below is that they are all claiming that the light fits 2001 BMW 330i.
I don't think they are telling the truth. Can anyone tell me which of the 20 items in ebay on sale now will or will not fit/work in my unaltered 2001 BMW 330i low-beam headlight? 1 - General Electric H7-55/BP Driving Light (Fits: 2001 BMW 330i) 2 - H7 XENON-HALOGEN 8000K H.O.D LIGHT BULBS/BULB 100W HEAD... Any H7 55 watt halogen bulb will work fine. If you go to the local auto parts store you don't have to wait for it to arrive in the mail.

Do I have the advantage of putting any H7 bulb in either high beam OR low beam spot? What about D2S bulb? The D2S socket seems to be different than H7 socket? Are you sure the 2001 330i is H7 and not D2S?

If you have the self-leveling Xenon headlights, you have a D2S connector. I you don't, you have an H7.
Notice how everything in your list is either H7 halogen, h7 "xenon conversion", or xenon D2S. Better idea, take your bulb out, take it to your local auto parts store and ask them.

I put a hid kit in my 2003 325i h7 works fine but u have to make some mods the bulbs won't sit right in the headlight so I cut the base of my factory bulbs base and used with the h7 bulbs i got from eBay also that front bumber has to come off to replace those bulbs or get them off

My 2003 325i had factory low and high beam headlights but I bought and installed High Intensity Discharge (D2S type) kit. I wanted to still use the H7 type bulbs in the D2S spot and this required me to make modification to the H7 bulb base which I bought from eBay. I had to remove the front bumper assembly when I installed HID kit. 1) Is this right? 2) Why did you install the HID kit and modify the H7 bulb from ebay to have it fit in the D2S spot? 3) Did you have to remove the bumper assembly everytime you replace the bulb or is it only when you installed the HID kit? 4) What did you gain by buying and installing the HID kit? 5) Do you have any information on whether the low beam and high beam (H7 and/or D2S) bulbs are completely interchangeable? Let me shed some light on this (pun intended)
First determine if you have projectors or not. Projectors look like this..... ![]() Halogens look like this..... ![]() Note the projector has what looks like an eyeball on the outside that focuses the beam from the HID lights. If you have projectors you need a D2S bulb. I have the cheap $15 ebay ones and I can tell you they shine as bright as any name brand for 1/8th the price. If you have halogen lights then please do not put HID's of any kind into them. Without the projector and cutoff you will blind oncoming drivers and scatter light all over the place, it is a real d!ckhead move. You simply need a set of H7 bulbs that look like this.... It is that simple.
