No Speedometer and Car not shifting

I was having trouble with the car shifting but speedometer was working. While replacing the brake pads, I noticed the ABS sensors were fraying (exposed wires), it would explain why the car messed up when it rained or was super humid out.

Pulled the ABS codes to verify and was receiving 3 out of 4 of the sensors being bad, replaced all 4 just to be on the safe side. Was also getting error code 39 (Servo motor electrical error).

After replacing the sensors, reset the codes and 2 of the 3 codes erased fine, but the right rear sensor is still throwing a code, as well as the Code 39 remaining. The weird thing is the speedometer stopped working as well, and the car is still shifting badly, I have to manually shift by moving gear selector from D3 to D at 2000 RPM.

I know people have had to replace their ASC modules, but I don't believe the 1997 had one that could be rebuilt, and from my research, doesn't typically go bad.

did you replace with oem sensors ??? If not.... DO ! Those $20 sensors are not saving you any money believe me....been there,done that.

I know the front passenger speed sensor affects shifting and rear driver sensor affects your speedoneter.Good luck

Exactly what problem do you have with shifting ? Might have to replace your shifter bushing.

Its cool man, thanks for all the help.

Just for everyone else to know, I used his software and he helped me swap out the sensors, I didn't think it worth it to pay dealer $150 to read the code each time; my INPA kit is in the mail.

@diggyd357:
They were from the dealer, I was going to go the ebay route but they were too vague on which years they would work in, my car is from feb 1997. I'll recheck those plugs, make sure they're in there firmly and I plugged them in correctly.

@MigzE30: Car doesn't want to shift after going from 1st to 2nd gear without me manually shifting it from S3 back to drive, when it does shift, it shifts hard.

going to do a search, but what and where is the shifter bushing?

btw this is an automatic, if I wasn't clear enough.
