Ok well I'll be thinking good thoughts your way then. Le sigh. I'm sure if any of us can do it successfully without contemplation of murder suicide, you'll be the one. Just a note, yes I know they can be recovered, I had mine done. As do I. Link for where you got everything? Looks nice!!

ordered a few sample swatches to see what the material looks like. it's tough online. patterns can be ok in the window, but then when you look at the specs, the pattern is huge.
trying to stay away from solids, and too dark. been driving around to fabric stores, but they have limited product... anyway, will be looking around until i find what jumps out at me. ![]() df

Went back to work on the 633 this afternoon. Got the differential, cv axles and driveshaft back in before it started raining. I was all comfy under the car when I noticed my legs were getting wet! Rats. Thought I'd get it finished today. We have a road rally on Saturday. I'll probably drive the 6er, since Bebe is ill. She overheated Saturday for no apparent reason. My daughter pulled over immediately and called me. I went and brought the car back...coolant is going somewhere, but I haven't found the leak yet. No sign of head gasket problems (yet). Pressure testing tomorrow.

The suspension on the 633 is done, and what a difference! I just thought it handled before. For a big, heavy car, it handles extremely well.
I also overhauled the shifter while I was under there, and that thing is so smooth and precise now, it's just amazing. Haven't found a coolant system pressure tester that will fit the BMW screw-on cap, so no progress on Bebe. I'm thinking seriously about making an adapter to work with the Stant tester I've owned for 30 years (and still works great). I can't justify paying $80 (even if I could afford it) for the tester from Harbor Freight just to get the adapter. That tester got pretty poor reviews anyway. Advance, O'Reilly's, AutoZone, Parts Plus, NAPA and Auto Value all loan testers. NONE of them work on a BMW.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllll, I found the leak on Bebe.
Head gasket leaking coolant between the head and block on the intake side. Kinda figured that was what it was, since the entire cooling system, (hoses and all) was replaced less than 15k miles ago. At least it's not going into the oil! She almost made a quarter of a million miles.....Help me with a checklist: Head gasket set: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...28E36%29%2C%20 Head bolt set: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...d%20Bolt%20Set Exhaust manifold nuts: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...81995-99%29%20 What do you think about timing chain rails/guides/tensioners? The engine has ZERO chain noise now. Once I got the belt tensioner cylinder replaced it's quiet as a sewing machine. I'd change/replace the cam chain guide etc., but I'm afraid to mess with a good thing. Besides, I'm on a "bread and water" budget. If I don't need something, it get's checked off the list.Opinions?

Ken, please let me know what is getting kicked off the list. If you need it.... Plus we never really know what I do or don't have laying around. Relatively certain the spare parts breed in storage somehow.

LOL! Yes, that storage shed of mine has filled up with parts I have no recollection of getting, yet there they are!
I appreciate it, Amber. I don't suppose you have any M42 parts, like the cam chain tensioner and guide rails?

Ok, I mean I only had high-mileage M42s, but if they appear in good condition, I can just send you them free.
