Goodyear Efficient Grip RFT has a Road Hazard Warranty?
I discovered my left front RFT has the infamous RFT bulge. My 328i was purchased on 8/31/2012. It's running Goodyear Efficient Grip RunOnFlat.
I was about to order a new tire from Tirerack when I decided to search for road hazard warranty on this tire. Lo and behold it appears to have such a warranty! Warranty for replacement tires purchased between 06/01/11 and 08/31/12 (thanks tirerack!) http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....cleSearch=true http://www.tirerack.com/images/pdf/w.../GY0611ROF.pdf Would my purchase info be enough to satisfy the info below (especially C)? OWNER’S OBLIGATIONS: A. You must present the tire to be adjusted to an authorized Goodyear Run-Flat service facility (call 1-800-786-3528 for locations). Tires replaced on an adjustment basis become the property of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company or Goodyear Canada, Inc. B. You must pay for taxes and any additional services you order at the time of adjustment. C. When making a claim for ride disturbance, you must present your original tire purchase invoice, which shows the tire description and the date the tire(s) were purchased. D. You must submit your claim on a Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company or Goodyear Canada, Inc. claim form supplied by an authorized Goodyear Run-Flat service facility. The form must be completely filled out where you, the owner, or your authorized agent presented the tire for adjustment. |

Turns out only 1 service center near San Diego can check RFTs for warranty work! So I'm trying to schedule an appointment at that location (a good 25 mile drive from San Diego). Jeez, if a city the size of San Diego doesn't get a Goodyear Service center that can do this, how bad is this in small towns across the country?

Continuing the trend of weird. The Goodyear certified dealer sent me to, Evans, told me last night that he can't help. He said to go to Discount Tire. Evans told me Goodyear won't work with him. WTF?
So now Discount has ordered the tire and they're waiting to get a response from Goodyear. I have a sinking feeling I'm just paying $300 to get this beast... Last edited by brkf; 02-06-2013 at 12:37 PM. |
