Question on tinting
What do you guys think is the best combo for tint on a F30 black sapphire metallic color?
5% limo or 20% all around? |

Do you wanna look gangsta or classy? 35% all around.

Up north we cannot tint front windows therefore it will only be for the 5 rear panels. Is limo too dark to see out back?

I believe I did 25 or 30% ceramic, which I was told is the equivalent of 21% on a cheaper tint.

I'm still debating. I'm usually a 20% guy but going too dark on my black metallic would "kill the car's identity" IMO. The car and interior is already black. I think 40%-50% would complement the black body better. if anything a shade darker in the back. the glass is naturally lightly tinted also.

I have 35% all the way around. I used Pinacle Formula one.
With Black on black interior you don't need to go that dark. An other thing to consider is the darker they are the harder it is to see out of them at night. ![]() ![]()

Sorry guys/gals,
I forgot to mention that I had red leather for interior that's why I'm considering a darker tint. Thanks for all your replies! I'm leaning toward 20s but wanna see if there are anyone who's also tried limos. |

I did 30% LLuminar. Anything darker on a BSM is too dark. The car has natural beauty, why you wanna cake it up like some cheap trick?

20% all around. I didn't have any problems in my last car with the same color. This car, maybe a little harder to deal with at night.

It's ususally a good idea to do back window a bit darker than sides. Its a large area that lets in plenty of light. When done with the same % as the rest,it might end up looking a bit lighter than the rest of the car

I did 30% all around on mineral grey and it looks great.

I've had limo on several cars in my younger days. Backing up at night really freaking blows. To the extent that I explored aftermarket high-wattage backup light bulbs to offset the black hole behind me.
Highly recommend the 20%. I think you'll be more pleased with it combined with clear front windows anyhow. |

I think Ceramic is better at keeping heat out and won't interfere with cell phone signal. The higher quality tints such as the one I got are thicker and harder to put on properly (supposedly)
They left a small bubble in my drivers side and I made them redo it. Looks perfect now. |

Get the best quality you can afford. Not being in the business, I would question exactly what tint quality was actually installed.
It's illegal to tint the front windows in California. One day, I will be cited. Its totally legal in Nevada due to the heat. Where else is it legal? The tint should be removed by the installer unless, you have the patience to remove the adhesive residue.
