Hooking up Battery Tender
Guys:
I've finally gotten a Battery Tender and topped up my battery charge (I was having a few low battery warnings). All seems good now since I did the overnight charge. I used the two battery posts under the hood and attched the charger using the allegator clips. My question is I want to attach the eye rings and leave the cable easily accessible through the grill so I can simply connect the battery tender and plug it in without having lift my hood etc. (I plan on plugging it in overnight once a month or as needed during the winter season). My question is which locations are the best to attach the eye ring connectors? Anyone done this or do you guys just use the allegator clips? Thanks, Bill P.S. a picture of the locations would be really helpful

Alligator clips. I do mine about once per month as well and it's not that time consuming to open the hood and hook it up.

I did what you want to do. I used ring terminals right on the battery post you used.
I was careful when removing the nut on the hot side to not strike anything with the wrench (used an extension to elevate that wrench handle) and kept some sideways tension on the connection that is already there, to insure that the existing circuit was not interrupted. I did this to insure that there was no memory loss or reprogramming needed. I have no way of knowing if breaking the circuit would have caused such an issue, but better safe than... I installed an inline fuse and led the wire out through my lower grille. This last part was not so easy so I used a piece of coat hanger wire fed in from the front of the vehicle. When I finally found a path that worked, I duct taped the battery wire to the coat hanger wire, and pulled it back out. Good luck!

I hard wired mine and ran the wires out of the bottom right air scoop. The wires push up into the scoop when not in use. You will need to add some length to reach though. The charging nuts come off to reveal studs that the rings go right over.

Thanks guys. The first semi-warm day I'll pop the charging bolts and run the cables.
