BMW remote IPhone App
Has anybody been able to lock with the remote via the app? I get horn and lights. What gives with the lock functionality? It really is a nice feature when you may have forgotten to lock the car. Have 2011 March 2010 build and iOS current and app updates current.

Wish they had a start option, so can warm up car remotely

Does anybody get the following. "Unable to perform service......" Vehicle does not respond.... Could be that doing it via wifi or do I have to be on cell network?

In my experience - it works best when you have very strong signal. Be it Wifi or cellular.

Are you guys talking about the "My BMW Remote app" I do not have the car yet so have not used it and also have an Android phone so I had to sideload the app (its not available in the US yet) and when I look at the app it says "precondition" - what does this mean? turns on heat/ac? but its not a remote started so I am confused.

Yes I have got it to work. Its a hit and miss thing for me. Much cooler sounding that it actually is imo
|

I think it only works if you're within 1000' of the car. (App uses GPS)

Just tried it
First of all, the iTunes store had people complaining how many features will not work on US models.
Well, it did work on my US 535i. But it took almost 30 - 45 sec to get the job done. Is there a fix? Well, my 6 yo said for $1 she will walk to the car and unlock it and honk, flash the lights etc. For $2, she will start it as well
