Question Driver footwell air vent

It's supposed to close, right? I mean, if you specifically choose just 'horizontal' arrow then the floor vent should close completely and no air should come out, right?

No matter which vents I choose, I can't get air to stop coming out of the driver's side footwell vent. The passenger side opens/closes just fine.

I have the same problem. Cold air always on my left leg. I live in the south so it's not too cold, but there's go to be a way to stop the cold air.

Hopefully by midday I'll know what the issue is/was. I took it in last Friday to have them fix it. The SA eluded that perhaps the stepper motors needed to be readjusted/calibrated.

Edit: Sure enough, they recalibrated the stepper motors and all is well with the HVAC system.

There's got to be a thread for every problem I'm having.

I had a similar problem. For me the problem is somewhat intermittent. Sometimes it will be OK, and sometimes I'll feel freezing cold air. I went and got it checked and they said the system tested out OK.

Right now my car is in the shop for other reasons. When it comes back, I will retest with all the options and see what happens.

Because of colder weather, I have been driving with the rotary dial set to the warm setting, but I noticed this one day when I switched the dial to the cold setting. I thought that dial should only control the face vents, not the footwell ones. (At least that's how it worked in my E46.) But I was surprised to feel cold air on my legs (esp left leg when resting on the dead pedal).

They replaced the FEM control module and the driver's side vent is now behaving. Had to take it in 4 times for the same exact thing before they opened a PUMA case and got NA's regional rep involved.

The A/C compressor still always turns on (clutch engaged) no matter if the A/C light is actually OFF.
