6 Series
The BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations. |

Looky what Santa had under the tree!!
21" 128's from a 750 onto my 645. Can't wait to put em on this week and get rid of those old Ellipsoids which are for sale btw as of next week. Thinking of putting on 10mm spacers in the front and 20mm in the back. What do you guys think?

What will this do to the speedo? Can it be, or does it need to be re-calibrated?
If so, how? Does anything else need to be done to accommodate the change? |

They will do nothing to the speedo if he uses the correct size tire: 245/30-21 or 255/30-21
Front and 295/25-21 Rear. The stock 7 series tires are: 245/35-21 and 285/30-21 which are about 4% larger than OEM 6er tires. Not a huge deal but your speedo will be off showing 4% slower than actual speed. You will need 10mm front and 15mm rear spacers. 20mm will probably be OK with a more aggressive "pushed out" look.

Is 245/35 front and 285/30 backs ok? Will I see any difference with the speedo then?

It's not a huge deal. If it was me I would drive on these tires until they wear out then buy the proper size tire when ordering replacements.

Wheel question
Mr Yorgi?
What is a safe distance from the tire to the chasis arm?. I do know that once the tire is installed, it wont move; but my clearance is only 1/4 of an inch... The car rides great with the aftermarket rims and Pilot super sport tires; but not sure if being that close to the arm can create problems down the road... Many thanks in advance for your peerless expertise! Last edited by Soldes; 12-26-2012 at 08:30 AM. |

It is close to the tube, not to the spring..

You should be fine with 1/4" clearance then.

Well kjk645, you must have been a very good boy this year
. Nice gifts. A few members have that very same setup on their 6 and it looks really sharp. Drop some pics once you have them on.

Nice Toronto! Great color car BTW. Do you drive all year round or do you have a winter car?

The style 128s are some of the best by BMW. I always liked the simple, yet classy look of these wheels.
