Is there a tester I can buy to check myself.

Thanks for the info Yorgi. One more thing, when I start my car in morning it's fine but after it warms up when it's at an idle stage it surges up and down, not a whole lot but enough for driver to notice. Any ideas?

The uneven idle could be many things. Most likely a vacuum leak or the CCV valves. Could also be coils, spark plugs, carbon buildup, cam sensors, etc....
