6 Series
The BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations. |

are my front shocks worn out?
I'm just in the process of installing some Eibach springs, after i had the original springs removed I was able to completely push in the shocks and they would not extend unless I pulled them out. Is it time for new shocks? If so, are Bilstein a good choice?

Sounds like they're shot, shocks/struts should rebound on their own. Bilstein is a good brand of shocks for stock replacement. If I remember correctly, they can also valve them to your specifications if you know the exact spring rate of your Eibachs.

The Bilstein Sports may be your only option. They go for about $700 at Turner Motorsport. Personally I like Koni better than Bilstein but they are both very good.

Thanks for the replies.
Ordered a set of Bilsteins, while I'm at it, I will replace all 4.

called Budds (BMW Dealer, Yorgi will know them) and when they got back to me they told me that it is normal for these shocks to not come back out if they are pushed in. Doesn't really make sense to me
but then I couldn't find anything wrong with the way the car handled. It doesn't matter now because I heave Bilsteins ordered which should arrive on Tuesday

I think coilovers are overkill on a 4,200lb GT car like the 6er. With the Dynamic Handling (variable stiffness anti-sways) the car is already ultra flat in the corners. If you wanted to slam the car then you need coilvers, and for that the KW V3 are the best ($2,700).
Springs plus Bilsteins should be a very nice improvement.
