Old to many but new to me.

Knowing I should be sleep cause I have to get up in 4hrs to put in these 12 hrs, Im on this site cause its addictive!! Browsing threads I come across one for SAT radio. Everybody saying how they got it for this cheap price or that cheap price, one post caught my eye. So I follow his/her advice and I'll be dayumed.......I have SAT radio free for a yr! I never believed in it cause I don't that much time in my cars but it is nice to have!!

This is new to me as well. How did you get it free?

I just went online and opened up a acct. Step 4 or 5 ask if you want to set up a new subscription or trial...I hit new and it came up 0.00 for balance owed. Had to take the laptop outside..hit the send signal button and about 4 mins later......walla!

Oh yea...go to SAT and try to listen to a station first...your ESN # should pop up....write that down cause your going to need it.

I tried this, I dont have the SAT option in the radio list and they couldn't find my VIN when I submitted it.

It can work If you have an upgraded(2006- 2008) or late 2005 with the SAT function in the MMI. They started the SAT radio option in 2005 to current. Plus you must have the Sat radio module/ receiver in the trunk. I do believe you have to have the MMI coded for Sat radio too utilize the function. if you car is a 2004 an older it will not work as the option is NOT available. I could be wrong about all this though. But I know for sure SAT came available in 2005 models an current.

Damn... tried signing up and it keeps telling me to verify my last name or I should call the toll free number. Did it do this to any of you?

Nope. I just signed up. Maybe previous owners had it on already and the ESN is in the system. If you do call just tell them you just got it and BMW said you get a free yr with your purchase
