Z4 Montego Blue Interior
First post on this board... I've been a long-time MB owner (still own a CLS550) but just pulled the trigger one week ago on a 2006 Z4 3.0i with Titanium Silver exterior and Montego Blue seats/door trim.
Love the car - its my first manual transmission vehicle and I can't tell you how much I enjoy it. My CLS has way more power but its an automatic so the two are just two completely different experiences. I guess I've been trying to figure out if Montego blue is a common interior. It's not for everyone and it took a couple of days for it to grow on me but now I really like it. What do people think of the color as an interior color. Is it hard to come by? Also, the seats are a combo of cloth/leather (or vinyl - not sure). What are they? Sorry... completely new to BMW so just trying to learn about my car. Thanks! |

Welcome to the board. Join up with the ZSCCA on Facebook too. It's easy to become a member. We do an annual return to Greenville called home coming. Check into it.
I don't know about your interior, never heard of anyone having that color selection. I know there were some "Personal Options" I just can't tell you if that interior was one of them. Go to the FAQ at the top of the thread, there should be some info there for you. Regards

I'll need to take some pictures... its drizzly out today so the Z4 is resting in the garage and may not come out for a couple of days until its nice and sunny.
That said, here is a picture that was on the listing - you can kind of see it but I'll take a better shot when its parked outside and in the sun: ![]() Otherwise, I agree... TTIWWP. |

Another... this shot has some harsh lighting due to the flash so the colors are kind of washed out. What you see in the first picture further up is probably more representative of the true color. Again, I'll take some pictures later but this will give you a better idea.
![]() I imagine its not a color for everyone - I dug it when I saw it in person. |

That doesn't look stock to me. You have the sport seats, which were optional, but they are always a single color leather(like the attached photo of an imola interior). I wonder if the PO changed the seat cover. I like the contrast though.

Looks good! Congrats on your acquisition of the Z4. Great performance two-seaters. It's too bad that BMWNA has yet to offer a build sheet duplication or certificate of authenticity to owners. Other premium car manufacturers offer the service, e.g., PCNA has their Certificate of Authenticity, Corvette has through the Corvette Museum offers a duplicate build sheet program, etc.

I can't tell... if you dig, you can find that a cloth/leather combination was available but it is listed separately from the M Sport Seats. Somehow they combined the two and then got it in Montego Blue. Can't find antoher example anywhere.

Finally dug something up via Google... still seems uncommon but at least I understand how they came up with the combo:

You could order half cloth half leather with sport seats/sport package in 2006 on roadster 3.0i. I don't think that blue was formally called Montego Blue... It had another name that escapes me right now.

There was a Montego blue option for the interior. There was a Maldives blue option too. Both are pretty rare in the US.

So his is actually Montego as that was the cloth/leather combo color. Maldives was solid.

This site, which I just happened across the other day, lists Montego Blue as an available interior option with "Bi-Color Active Sports Leather and Sport Fibre (fabric)". The site is based in the UK, so most of the info is about European configurations: http://www.bmwz4roadster.net/bmw_z4_interior.htm. Check out the Maritime interior trim, which was only available in Europe, under Individual!
Here's a pic from the site: ![]() (Oops, didn't see the link to this site above!)

Weather was perfect yesterday so I pulled the car out... I took a couple of shots in the driveway. I couldn't get a good wide shot because my wife's car was parked next to the Z4 but you can see a daylight shot of the interior, as seen via my phone's camera. Rain today so the car is staying inside.

The silver and blue color combo is great looking. You have found a rare bird indeed. Congratulations.
I second the show up at Zfest 2013, I would love to see that car in person. Join ZSCCA and check us out on Facebook too. Regards

It is, when you see 2-300 other Z cars in the parking lot you know you have got a lot of dedicated owners out there.
Hope you can make it.
