E63 / E64 6 Series (2004 - 2010)
The E63/E64 BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations.

idrive 2010 and music import, artist, album

Hello all,

I have the 2010 630i, with the new idrive system.

I stuck a bunch of songs onto a flashdrive, put it into glovebox USB and copied music to hard drive. No problem.

It has the song name and it plays. But What I want when its playing is to say the album and artis name above the song. It now just says unknown album, unknown artist.

I suppose this has to do with the format of my music? Is there a way in which I can take my music collection and use something like itunes or something similar to make it “palatable” for the idrive?

I just use windows vists.

Appreciate the help..

Your songs have to have the ID3 tags properly updated in order to show Artist and Album in the system. I found the following guide for you, according to this guy you had to have it tagged in the older 2.3 format for it to display properly. I cannot verify as I do not have your version of Idrive.

If you are not familiar with ID3 tagging do a google search and read up, there are many free ID3 tagging softwares, I have used Supertagger, but to be honest there are so many you would need to find one that works for you. Or live without Artist and Album info!
