Z3 Roadster (E36/7) Unrespnsive with all dash lights on for a few seconds

I was driving my '00 z3 2.3 and all the dash lights came on and the car was somewhat unresponsive (I didnt get any gas and no power brakes; dont know about the steering as I was on a straight and I'm pretty sure the engine never cut out). I can remember this happening one other time about two days before this occurrence, but I wasnt looking at the dash so I didnt notice the lights when I felt it happening. It lasts only a few seconds, anyone know whats wrong?

I have had the same problem. Before I check battery/alternator/etc, did you get this problem resolved?
