HELP: EWS Error and won't crank / start

My 2003 E39 525iT 140k miles won't start. It doesn't even crank.
I have checked the starter and it is in good condition.
Carsoft 6.5 show below error but I don't understand what is problem.

5 Schl?sel 5 nicht erkannt
Ablauf bei Schl?selidentifikation und Startvorgang
- Der Transponder im Schl?sel wird ?er die Ringantenne mit
Energie versorgt und sendet die Schl?seldaten an das EWS3-Stsuerger?.
- Das EWS3-Stsuerger? pr?t die Schl?soldatsn suf ihre Richtigkeit
und gibt erst dann ein Freigabesignal an Motorsteuerung mid Anlasser.
- Nech dem Motorstert erzeugt das EWS3-Steusrger? neue Schl?seldaten
(Wechselcode) und sendet Sie an den Transponder is Schl?sel

The key is not recognized.

The process of identification of the key and the start up
- the transponder in the key will be powered by a ring-antenna and sends back the data of the key to the EWS
- the EWS checks the data and gives an enable signal to the DME and to the starter
- after the start the EWS sends new data to the key (changes the code)

is the ews connected to the immobilizer?

Yes, it is connected.
Do you have any other opinion?
