Sorry you got skunked, Tanner. Sounds like they sent you (maybe) the instruction manual, but nothing else....

I'm still confused as to what happened? did they not send Tanner the kit? or did he get scammed from some one? what happened?

Okay sorry I am too flustered to make sense... So The guy I bought the kit from(well shop) In bend Oregon sent me an empty box, The size that a kit should be in. However the box is empty.. can't confirm because I left the boxed closed so that It would REALLY help my case. looks like the guy even put some scotch tape on it first, then packing tape over it.. Maybe so it looked like I tampered?? like UPS is going to ship a box with a few pieces of scotch tape on it?

If you ever open it, make a complete video showing the box intact and the address visible before starting. That'd make any argument on their end moot (and a good youtube video to shame them.)

Have you called (not e-mailed) the seller to inform him that a box arrived, apparently sans kit?

This. And try to be polite and reasonable on the phone. It may not be a scam, maybe it was stolen by someone loading a ups truck. And depending on their response, call your credit card company, explain the situation, and dispute the charge if need be.
Above all, keep a calm and clear head.

You guys don't really know the full extent of this story's past. It is pretty embarrassing for me because I know better than to send someone money like this. First off he said it was already in the box and he had surgery on his arm and didn't want to take it all out for pics and stuff. That should have been red flag one. Then after I paid him in full he jumped ship for 6 days and I did not hear from him. It took me making a post on e46F asking guys if they knew anything about him. then he decides to butt in and say that I was the one scamming him and his paypal account got locked and he never got any money. Red flag two. So he came up with some BS tracking number and said now you cant say I am trying to scam you. The tracking number remained as waiting for package to be brought to our facility. After a week of that I asked him what was going on and he made up some BS about it not working because he didn't use his account #...total bs. Then he send a package rated at 5lbs... come on. So basically he was counting on the fact that him sending a package that got delivered would be the only thing he would need. which honestly if he sent a 50lb weight he might get away Scott free. However when I take the package to the PD tm and they are the first ones to open it and its empty... yeah. Also I tried to call him maybe 10 times total and he will never answer or call back, only text. which is okay because what he said to me unrecorded can't be used as any evidence. There is a lot about this that I will tell you guys after investigations are over. Also it is funny how hard it has been to get a hold of him until now when I tell him that I am taking action he wants to talk all night... nope your done

Basically this guy thought he was gonna scam some dumb kid (I assume) and get some cash. He has made a few vital errors that will be his downfall. I am not even worried about the money anymore because my bank/card will refund me outright and then review my case, paired with a police report I am golden on keeping my money I hope. What I want is justice to be served.. I have zero tolerance for those whole steal.. I am going to make sure he pays for trying to screw me over.

When I read 5 lbs I knew something was wrong. The clutch for my wife's old C230k supercharger weighed a whole lot more than 5 lbs.

Don't feel too bad about this. I gave $900 to a guy who had worked on my slate roof for 2 years to get copper and supplies and never heard from him again. I saw him about a year ago and would have shot at him (not actually shot him) if I had my 9mm with me. The upside to this is you'll get your money back and hopefully the police will nail his butt.

To bad he didn't ship by regular mail: https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/i...MailFraud.aspx
Mail fraud is a federal offense.
Sorry that happened.

I do hope all ends well. This has really put a stop to my build. Even more important is now I have this to worry about on top of school, work, formula car.

Tanner,

If you paid by PayPal you still might have a shot of getting your money back. PayPal has a 45-day window to file a case against the seller, so do it right away. If your PP account was backed by a credit card, get in touch with them as well, and explain that you are a victim of fraud.
Last but not least, if it was shipped by USPS, file a claim with them too. As was mentioned, using the US Mail to commit a crime carries Felony weight. Bring as much heat down on this guy as possible.

Bob- I have already contacted paypal who told me to contact my card company. They card company is going to reimburse the full charge and then have a 90 day period of revision. I am also doing a police report.

This is another example of why/how important it is to only buy from verified suppliers like Turner Motorsport, ECS Tuning, DINAN, etc. You gotta pay to play.

sorry man it hurts getting burned, I believe we've all been there in some shape or form. Give Active Autowerkes a call for a supercharger. Viral is a nice guy, and once you install that AA S/C kit you'll forget about that d-bag in Oregon.

I'm sorry Tanner. If you PM me the amount you paid for the kit I may be able to ask my friends over at VF to hook you up.
