videos like this get kids killed. sorry i really dont see much skill either anybody who can drive drift and has a death wish can do it. street racing at night is bad enough but to do that in live traffic is stupid and he wasnt fluid at all...just some nut in a m, if you want entertained just watch the first Transporter movie to see the ultimate driving machine in action

For whatever reason, destruction and mayhem have become "cool". I have done some stupid driving as a youngster, seriously stupid for years. Later in life I was fortunate to be able to participate in driving schools and subsequently track days for many years.

I also see somebody getting hurt, probably badly. I do hope it is not someone outside the car though. If they take themselves out, score one for natural slection.

The car wasn't meant for that abuse either. I am sure it was bouncing off the limiter constantly spinning the tires. The engine wasn't designed for that, car abuse turns me off.

Sorry, that is a driver with zero car sympathy, a very small penis and a very large death wish, which hopefully will not involve others. BTW the Ronin drive took 10 days to film, from memory.

What I'd give for a 3-pedal'd E38...

Fun fact:
In the movie Jason Statham's character describes the car as a "1999 735i" but the car that was actually used was an M70 powered car (V12). The only example to have the manual trans fitted by a BMW factory (albiet a tranny swap rather than factory built).

^^Could not have said it better myself!

The way he jerked the wheel back and forth and ham-fisted the shifter made me cringe :/ Poor M5...

I was watching that vidio and you can see people running to get out of the way. And I could not help wondering if that it was his son with him in the car. Closed course is one thing but this guy is on highway and city streets.

This guy is a and needs a good

As I said, say what you will.. I do not condone driving like that on public roads, and I also would be of the opinion of hurt yourself all you like as long as no one else gets hurt!! But I do disagree that the car is not able for it.. They were built to be driven hard, albeit not on a busy street with pedestrians and traffic!!

I have not seen the Transporter, but have seen Ronin many times an will watch both over the weekend.. They should have given the M5 to de Niro in Ronin, he wouldn't of crashed it

The car was meant to be driven quickly. Driving "hard" which I would agree, is what the guy is doing, is not doing that car any favors. Brake stands? really? in an M5? Slamming shifts, prolonged time against the limiter, these thing will wear out the car much more quickly. I'm not impressed, balls? absolutely! big brass ones I am sure. Skilled driver, not so much.

Bring him to my mtn roads, I am happy to demonstrate fast road driving done properly

I hate for my very first post to be a negative one, but this guy is completely awful (word choice is based on my assumption that "coarse" language is frowned upon/filtered out on this respectable forum ). He's putting other people's lives in jeopardy and simply beating up his ride. There's not one moment of his terrible driving in which anything resembling a "fluid movement" is made. Beyond his reckless indifference to the safety of anyone around him, his driving isn't even fun to watch, impressive or graceful in any way. I hope this story ends in a sudden development of intelligence/maturity or a single car accident (the latter being much more likely).

In other news... glad to finally be registered here! I've lurked/browsed for a long time, mostly when I was looking for specific info about my bmw. I look forward to learning more about my car and hopefully helping a few others out along the way.

Like CarDriver said - the bloke in the film is a w#nk3r and deserves no accolades from any one. He neither fluid, car sympathetic or safety minded. I hope he looses his license (if he has one) before he kills someone other than himself. I've had enough 'Sorry madam, but.....' messages to deliver in my time.

I could only watch 1:30 of that, and I'm a pretty aggressive driver, but there were way too many other people in danger of that idiot!
