Question Comfort Access question re:keys

What happens if both remotes are in the vehicle? We have a 2013 X5 with comfort access. I am getting ready to make a 1200 mile round trip. I usually like to have an extra key with me in case one is somehow lost, but there is no "emergency key" with the remotes except for the removable ones in the fob. If I carry one key in my pocket and one in a suitcase in the hatch area how will this affect the locking-unlocking of the doors and/or hatch. I had driven the vehicle from the PC to Maryland last spring and I can't recall any problems but I don't recall if I had the second remote in the trunk area. I assume I must have but I really didn't make more than one stop. Thanks

In for an answer, I usually like to have my wife keep a set in her purse when we roadtrip, but I've purposefully avoided it because I don't want to run into issues like you are thinking as well.

I've never tried, but I think that if you have a keyfob left anywhere in the car, you will not be able to lock the car with the other keyfob.

There is a comfort access 'how it works' PDF that I've posted/linked as well as others...should find the answer.

If the extra key-fob causes any problems just take the battery out.
