Transmission "clunk"
My transmission has a very bad downshift from 2-1 especially in sport + mode. Does the same trick we used on the E65/E66 holding the gas pedal down for 25 seconds with key in the ignition reset the transmission adaptation values work on the F01/F02?

Yes this adaptation reset does work on the F01 (temporarily), but if you're under warranty I'd pressure the dealer to really examine it. I had a similar issue and it turned out to be a bad mechatronics unit. Replaced under warranty.

Ouch already huh?? dont feel bad my mechtronics went bad at 25k miles.

What is "mechatronics", what does it do, where is it located and how big of a job is its replacement?

Mechatronics is a part of the transmission - Mechanical-Electronics. It's an advanced way of controlling the transmission. It's located at the bottom of the transmission.

Agreed - trans was not updated until 2013 for all F01 except for the 760 which I believe got the 8 speed in 2010
