Well the additional reasons you list (the owner being involved with the community, made in the usa (explains the high cost), hopefully good customer service, etc) are the reasons I would consider the LUX H8--not because I think chinese-made versions are horribly inferior. Who knows, they might be; I have not seen the e90post or m3post threads on it so I could be barking up a dead tree.

I am much more interested in which is a most-popular solution that many people put in their expensive BMW's and haven't fried their front wiring yet

I've had mine in place for nearly nine months and I've not fried anything nor has my car ever thrown a code and they have no flicker. They also are as bright today as they were when I installed them.

If you want to understand "most-popular" go do some reading on E90 post.

E90POST and M3POST had a tremendous amount of information comparing the different options on the market.

Marc, the owner of LuxAngelEyes is a fairly frequent contributor on E90post and at one point posted a very comprehensive explanation regarding the technology and that not all H8 LEDs are equal. He also seems to genuinely care about customer satisfaction and stands behind his product.

Anyway, that's the info I turned up doing my research. I intend on keeping my car for a long time and so I had no qualms about putting the premium priced version on it.

YMMV
I originally purchased City Visions - no issues, but wanted cleaner brighter look. I recently installed the LUX H8 and was blown away - very sexy, simple install and very pleased with them. They are worth the $$.

Glad to hear they hold up well over time.

The LUX H8's have gotten nothing but rave reviews from everyone who has them. Is their website the only place to buy them?? I don't see them on ebay, amazon etc...

Anyone know if LUX is working on a dimmable version of their H8?

what part of the car's warranty (if any) would replacing the OEM bulbs with aftermarket ones void? and do you have to be careful where you put the rest of the stuff for the LUX H8's after you put the bulb in its place?

Unless you burn wiring out the dealer will not be able to claim any warranty issue.
From reading the work comparo done by Kat et al it looked to me like the H8-LUX drops into the same area that the OEM bulb does with a ballast and thats it. I recall installing the bulb is the toughest part but once in should last a long time...
I am going back to review the comparison again myself as it might be time...

So those are the lights on my 335is that I programmed off? Maybe I should turn them on again.

On second thought...do they drain the battery?

Someone need to take-one-for-the-team on this LED, buy and write a comparo, the housing looks like LUX and if this maker smart enough to use Cree XT-E, it'll be as bright as LUX.

Will the real Nordic Cat verify the pic.?

Hi Nordic Cat.
Curious if your pic is really you.
Also, how do I add my pic to my future threads?

I also apologize for the horrible quality of the pic. We can't all have NK's awesome quality camera
