|
Anyone have major electrical demons/problems?
My friends brand new x3 (1 week old) today started shooting out the windshield washer fluid... burned the washer motors(car stunk inside) then started flashing all the lights, locking and unlocking the doors and went bananas... dropped it off to the dealership.
Just wondering if anyone else has seen this.

There have been a rash of recent 2013 electrical problems involving windshield washers, and sometimes escalating to other electrical problems. It's usually diagnosed as a bad JBE module. It'll likely take a few days or more to get a replacement module from Germany, perhaps longer. Tell your friend to get a good BMW loaner.

Recently the 2013 model year has had issues with the rear washer. Haven't read anyone with 2011's or 12's with the issue. You can read more posts about it here:

yeap 02420x3 sounds about right they replaced motors for washers and replaced a computer on it... Hopefully fixed. They knew about the issue and had a fix.

Update... car now locks and unlocks whenever it wants... currently can't lock it. Going back to dealer for more electrical problems. It has less then 1000 miles on it.

he's rarely in front of computer these days about to have a kid any day and running around for his business, and he's sick.. so i'm doing some leg work for him
 He also told me the hatch sometimes opens, He's documenting everything and called bmwNA and asked for another one.. it has 700 miles on it. So today is second trip for electrical issues. I did a lemon law for transmission issues for my 645 when i had it (transmission BANG). I forget is it 3 trips for same issue.. or 20 days total in the shop? And this is just a lease thank god.

electrical problems
my 2011 x3 just started having electrical issues: first the roof wouldn't open,
then the lights on the dash went off, wouldnt come back on, after a few hours everything just just working again ... except the roof still wont open... just made a clicking sound... it did feel like it was poltergeist possessed... its in the shop now
