Of all the cars I've owned, I must say I liked the Volvo 850 turbo wagon the most. With an IPD tune and sway bars, it was a blast to drive. It would haul easily a 3,500 lb trailer and you could fit a standard size refrigerator inside (well almost). Owned it for 13 years, had to sell it for scrap at 220,000 miles after wifey got into a minor accident and it became too expensive to fix.

Of the cars I've driven, the 650i convertible...

As beautiful as my current F10 is, definitely my previous BMW (2003 E46 330i) has been the best ever car in my life. Yes I was younger, so the stiff suspension was a virtue rather than a problem (my 528ix can be very comfortable with the Comfort+ EDC Setting). But - well, the 330i aged, and I had a single technical problem with it that became a show-stopper: the first generation SMG gearbox started surprising me in a very nasty way (including inability to shift and engage the clutch). So I had to sell it for some stupid money, even though it was in immaculate condition, and only 120kkm on the clock

Hopefully, my current F10 will serve me at least as good (minus any serious mechanical problems like the SMG thing)....

Audi B8 S4, it's smaller and lots of power, and it's all wheel drive system is one of the best. I used to live in canada and we get 2 feet of snow all the time, with proper snow tires i never got stuck in deep snow

Porsche Cayenne Turbo.

Can tow a house, adjustable suspension for pretty capable offroad ability+locking diffs, seats 5, hauls your junk, can hit 60 in 5 seconds or quicker, does 170mph, and handles like a performance sedan. Jack of all trades, can do anything with it.

2013 Audi S8.

Fast, best interior ever, and incredible combination of luxury, tech and speed. Drove one at recent Audi Drive Experience on the road and track and was blown way. Not cheap, but as fast as a Porsche Turbo, back seat like the Ritz and handles like a car half its weight. I was unprepared to be so impressed - from the Google maps to the crisp 8 speed shifts and with gas mileage in the 20's for a 500HP plus car.

Being Practical
1995 Toyota 4Runner
This thing really had no restrictions on or off road (that is, while I was driving...haha)
It carried everything I could ever possibly need in a long distance trip, with room to spare.
Not to mention, it was a workhorse when I was driving around venue-to-venue with a truck load of speakers, turntables, and other DJ gear.
Oh and not to forget, when NYC plowed the snow into a perfectly viable parking spot, I'd drive on top of that pile to park...
I miss that car.

I'm going to choose the Infiniti G37. It's sporty, decent power, comfy and handles better than current Bimmers. Not Bimmers of the past but better than the current crop. Plus it's more economical which helps with a car being considered an all-arounder.
Q50, the replacement for the G37 comes out this summer. Saw it at the NYC car show- attractive car and loaded with the latest technology. There's a hybrid version too.

My DD for the last 3 years is an 07 335i (sig pic) and I still love it. It has 4 doors and a decent sized trunk but is still entertaining to drive. I didn't get the sport package so the ride is smooth and forgiving. As for reliability I have been lucky. The only thing I have had to replace/repair aside from the HPFP recall has been the passenger door lock and original battery. I am now at 97K miles and it still runs like new.

Thanks!

Here's the way I see it;

1 - any day I wake up breathing, and

2 - drive my M3,

.....is a great day.

- the rest I'll figure out....

BTW I enjoy seeing your M3 in your sig - your car has a menacing stealthy quality that says prisoners will not be taken.

Not the best ride ever, but man am I in love with my last week purchased 10 year old E46 330Ci vert!
No gimmicks.
Everything just works and is kind of direct, without computerized fuzz.
Plain BMW six in line responsiveness, HAH!
And with the top and windows down, the sound..., if you know it, you have to love it.

Need to change all the suspension rubber pieces though, even for a vert, it is not wobly, but soft, by the years...
And for me next to the E39 the body style of the E46, is second to no other BMW.

Is there a (soon to be) classic forum over here?
I need advise for upkeeping this piece of German car building perfection for the upcoming decade.

The only way to "top" an E92 M3 is to "un-top" it. The E92 M3 is magical. The E93 M3 is magical-er (everywhere but the track).
