Zurich Shield?
This past weekend when I bought my 335d, the dealer suggested Zurich Shield. He knew I wasn't local to his dealer, and couldn't purchase it through him. But he still stood behind it and recommended I get it from my own local dealership. He said he really believes it's a good product, and put it on his own car.
www.zurichshield.com I guess it goes on the exterior and interior. The interior protects the leather and the carpet (supposedly better than scotchguard), and the exterior is a long term sealer. I think he said it carried a 7 year warranty. Any experience with this product here? Thanks! |

I am sure it is a good product, but there are many good products out there that can be bought for much less money. This "guarantee" is questionable. Usually in order for the guarantee to stay in effect you need to come back at a specified time for an "inspection" that may or may not cost money. As soon as you miss an inspection the guarantee is gone. Read ALL of the fine print before you sign anything.
Bottom line is that this is probably about 90% profit for the dealer. Do yourself a favor and apply a good coat of quality wax once or twice per year and your car will be as well or better protected and you will be many $ ahead.... |

Do you take care of your cars? i.e. routine wash wax interior clean?
If so IMO you don't need this. Wash fairly regularly, a good wax a couple times a year, Scotchgard on carpets when new, winter mats if you get snow, etc. and your car will look like new for years to come. BB |

zurichshield
Hey I also bought a 335d Sonnen BMW in San Rafael and was sold on the zurichshield. It makes the exterior look really nice and smooth and probably will protect the paint. The interior is the oyster so figured it'd be nice to have an added stain-guard. So far though I've noticed the interior is making more "noise" like creaking... Dont know if the two are related but since I'm now just noticing it I dont know what else it would be. I'll keep you posted if I notice anything else.

The dealer I work at only deals with Zurich. They are probably the best Ive worked with. They really do stand behind their product and guarantees.

Zurich Shield is a home run it just depends what you pay for it.
My friend spilled a full bottle of Coca Cola on his perforated seats in my M5 twin and was able to get the seat REPLACED with no hassle. What does a seat cost, like 3 grand? He also got his hood refinished after axle grease from an el etched his paint. Home run! . . . . Last edited by mryakanisachoad; 02-12-2013 at 04:05 PM. |
