Documents required at dropoff

Hi, I got an email from Log In Out in Munich stating that I need the following when I drop off the car:

- Original Purchase Order
• Original International Registration (Green)
• Original Insurance Attached to Registration (Yellow)
• Original Confirmation of Registration (green)
• Original confirmation of Insurance (white)
• Original Data Confirmation (white)
• Passport

Obviously I already have the purchase order and passport, but where/when do you get teh rest. Is it on delivery day at the Welt?

And what is ther difference between Original Insurance attached to registration and Original confirmation of insurance?

Everything will be provided during your Welt pickup. If I remember correctly, a separate set of documents will be provided to be used for the drop-off. Enjoy your ED.

You will sign a few documents while at the Welt and then you will be given everything you need in a folder. Take out your registration & insurance form (to carry on you) and at drop-off just give them the folder, registration & insurance form, and your passport . At that point they will have everything they need.

Audi asking for Social Security during drop off instead of passport. Addition to you relief!

Do we know if anyone from the forum has dropped off at Log In Out in Munich and had their plates in the car when they got it back home?

I got both of my plates when my car was redelivered in 2011.

Sweet, I'm really hoping I get mine too. If I don't, there are enough replica license plate websites where I could just have them remade and sent to me

They gave me a nice license plate bag with the rest of the documents during the Welt delivery. This bag is for the front plate that I took with me when I dropped off my car in Munich. The rear plate was still in the car during the US re-delivery.

Sweet, sounds like log in out at Munich airport really has this process down pretty well

Actually, both plates are supposed to remain on the car at drop-off. IIRC, the ladies at LogInOut ask if you want the plates at redelivery, and post a note in the car expressing your desire.

For my recent ED, both plates arrived with the car at the dealer.

I just dropped off my car about 45 minutes ago, so here's the latest. All documents were provided at the Welt. The car should be washed before you get there. If you wash your car at the Agip station only a mile away, your car will still get dirty if the roads are slushy. If there are no parking spaces available, it's apparently okay to park illegally in front of Loginout. That's what the clerk told me. Both plates must remain on the car and the clerk did not ask me about them. You still need to remove you triangle and first aid kit if provided. I can't post a pic right now, bit they do let the cars sit there as evidenced that their lot was full of snow covered ED cars, including an AW M5 with Summer tires.

Here's a question - I'm in Florida which does not require a front plate. I do not want a front plate bracket installed. If I do a ED, and don't drive the car, just sign it over for shipment back to USA can the front plate be skipped?

Both plates should be on the car if they need to drive your car to the nearest shipping point unless they change the ruling. I dropped mine in Munich that is why I got my front plate with me on my flight back to USofA.

Don't worry, they will. If you want to extra insurance, you can notate that at the drop off. But for example, they even ask if you still want zoll stickers to remain on your windshield when dropping off which makes for also a cool souvernir/memories.

I was like you when doing my first ED but trust me, they have it down to science (they would have to or it wouldn't be as successful) and everything will go smooth.

Are you ready to track your car also across the pond too? That is a lot of fun to do that and keep abreast where it's at during it's journey.

The front is just stuck on with SUPER STRONG double side adhesive tape. No holes will be drilled. I live in TN where there are no front plate requirements either. In fact, nearing 3 years since my ED in May of 2010 and my front zoll plate is still on the car.

I, probably, minority, who's rear plate was not in the car after re delivery. Back than you take your front with you with med-pack and triangle.
Can be my dealer, when washing my car before re-delivery

I think I will take the driving permits off the windshield when I deliver the car and I'mm put em in my luggage.

Once I get the car and the plates back home, it'll be arts and crafts time...I think I'll need a "shadow box" so I can frame everything from the ED and hang it up in the basement next to the signed wendel clark sweater and my Blue Jays World Series newspapers.

i don't know if this is typical, but when we dropped off in Amsterdam I initially handed them the entire packet of documentation that we'd received at the Welt, along with the PO, etc. They glanced at some of it and maybe made some photocopies, but in the end they only took the delivery form and the damage form (maybe the same document?) and handed me back everything else to keep. So I've got it all, including a really impressive green German registration booklet to amaze my friends with, everything.
