There are very few people who have the Map FSC Code Generator Program, and there are even fewer people who know the actual algorithm used within it.

You can buy the FSC Tools program, and try and reverse Engineer it...but as I recall it is about 4000€:

If you are having problems pulling your 1B File, the code can be generated off VIN only.

The SWID Reader program is very finicky, and depending on the OS, .NET version, EDIABAS version, etc., sometimes it works, and sometimes it does not work.

If you have Navigation working now, and it is a factory Head Unit with FSC Codes and not a retrofit using a CAN Filter, then your VIN is all you need to have your FSC Code Generated.

I remember seeing in another thread that the only difference in fsc codes from year to year is the last 2 letters. Is this true, and if so, would someone be willing to share the last 2 letters of their 2013 code?

That is entirely not true. The whole FSC code is different.

To generate fsc code for map update.It need region code and year code to calculate.
Every car has difference fsc code.

I've got the North American 2013 Map update which requires FSC code base on VIN. There doesn't seem to be a "How-to", so can anyone tell me how I generate the code myself?

You can't without a special software program, and the version that can generate based on VIN only rather than pulling a 1B File is very expensive. You can buy just your FSC Code for $50 though.

Very few guys got the algorithm to generate the FSC code but it not worth scratching the head than buying them for $50 bucks.

I have PM'd you a reliable source.

I receieved the code for my new 2013 f10, they had to wait a few days after delivery to give me the code to activate it. Will this code work for 2014 updates and forward.. is it the same for every release? Thanks...

No. The FSC Code is VIN specific and based on Map Year, Map Region, and Map Type (Head Unit).

And since you have NBT Head Unit, expect to pay 3x the cost for a CIC update code.

Hello sorry to bring this thread up again but kindly I need some advice

I have a F30 with navigation professional, when i press navigation it ask me to enter activation code via I drive letter circle.

The dealer is being very lazy in activating this for us owners, it has been 7 months and they still say wait

I would like to make it work if the cost is not too high. By the way I am in Egypt and would need the Egypt map.

Any ideas where to start?

judgingby the error code and your earlier response I think my 64 bit w7K is giving some trouble. guess that means I need to create a VM with 32 bit and Ediabas dir and network bridging to get the tool to work

I used E-sys to get the FSC ststus check in case that helps till I manage to do the VM thingy
