I can get the 351 or 373 with new tires and TPMS for $2-$3k. I do like some of the non-forged aftermarkets like the Avant 368, but I am not very knowledgable about the quality or fitment. HRE are sweet but pricey. It s a 5 series, not an Aston Martin.

373's are nice. A bunch a years back I decided I liked BMW's and I went and bought a set of Hartge Classics. I've used them on (3) different cars and it's far and away the best "mod" I can think of. Most mods aren't portable and they generally have no resale value. Anyway - I've gotten so much value out those wheels and they're probably not worth much less than I paid for them. Something to consider... Last edited by mryakanisachoad; 02-11-2013 at 10:03 PM. |

Please check my math here.
After doing some research this is what I came up with. BMW 351 19" wheels weigh about 32lbs BMW 331 19" wheels must weigh 34-36 lbs because thay have a lot more spokes ![]() Dunlop 19" run flat another 32-34 lbs depending on size (front/back) Avant Garde M368 20" wheels weigh 27 lbs (low pressure cast) Michelin PS2 20" tire 27lbs. Overall weight reduction per corner is 14 lbs (56 lbs total) unsprung weight. Amazing since I was not even considering forged wheels which could drop another 3-5lbs per corner. I had no idea Michelins were the lightest tire on the market by far regardless of run flat. Some of those cheap non run flat tires weigh as much as a stinkin run flat ![]() I dare to guess what a 20" BMW 650 373 style wheel weighs, my guess is 35lbs plus another 35lbs of runflat would get me to 70 lbs per corner. This from a $100k sport car car. This would really really screw with my drive quality adding another 6 lbs+ per corner.

I will admit this is the first aftermarket wheel I have seen that I actually like (this is the first time I've looked it up). They look nice and clean.
Will the 20" x 10" rear wheel size fit the F10 (specifically the 550i xDrive)? $1,520 for 20" x 8.5" front wheels and 20" x 10" rear wheels seems like a pretty good price. What size of tire would be needed for these (especially the 20" x 10" rears)?

I am dropping more than 60-70lbs of unsprung weight on each of my current cars with wheel & tires changes alone.

Avant Garde wheels are a great choice. They're low pressure cast and utilize the same manufacturing process as OEM wheels. The Avant Garde M355 20" (F10 M5 style wheels) are a very popular choice among our 5 series customers. The setup that is going to work best is the 20x9.0 ET35 with a 245/35/20 up front and the 20x10.5 ET38 with a 285/30/20 in the rear. This will give you a flush look and will not cause any rubbing issues! Below are a couple more installed pictures of this exact setup on our customer Dr. Darryl Roundy's F10 550i for you to check out!

ModBargins, those wheels look great. May I ask what lowering springs/set-up he is using?

We'll after much contemplation, I did something I wouldn't think I would do.
I sold my 331 wheels and tires. I was all set to buy Avant Garde M368 wheels when I came across a great deal on Ebay. I ended up purchasing a brand new set of BMW 351 wheels with brand new Dunlop runflats off a 2012 535 for $1500. The tires alone cost about $2k installed. Minus what I got for my 331 and tires with 15k miles on them, my net cost was $750. Holy smokes, $750 for brand new OEM tires and wheels. I simply could not pass up the deal on a set of good looking wheels. I also went ahead and purchased the BMW OEM F10 spare tire kit. Takes little room in the trunk and costs about the same as those "build your own" solutions people have been talking about. I feel better driving around with a spare. Plus I am ready for when the run flats wear down so that I can easily move to non run flats. Plus I can take the spare tire kit with me to my next car when that day comes. So as much as I dislike runflats, the pragmatic side of me kicked in and went with the more sensible economic choice. P.S. If you need tires and want to stick with run flats, consider going online and buying and new set of wheels and tires together from a seller who upgraded their OEM wheels. Then sell your old tires and wheels on eBay. More than likely, taking into account the money you will make selling your old tires and wheels, you will get the new tires and wheels for about half the cost of simply buying new tires. He'll I think this even beats BMW's tire and wheel insurance.
