Z3 Oil Leak

Spent the evening putting my 1.9 back together. Had a nasty leak around
the oil filter housing. I have never seen o rings that bad. These things had turned
into what seemed like hard plastic. Tried to flex them after I got them out
and they broke.

Not a fun car to work on....At present I have 5 band aids stuck on me.

I need to do the same on my Z4. I haven't searched for instructions yet, but sounds like it will take a few hours and a little neosporin.

Tony, at least you got the job done. I have seen plenty of o-rings go bad with time and heat. Most notorious was on my '89 Chevy Cavalier V6. When that went, oil was EVERYWHERE!

Put it on the lift today and sprayed it down with solvent. She's dry and clean
now. Also changed the oil while I had it up.

Now the wife can drive it again.
