It's Geico, and I bet you're right on appraised value being wishy washy on an oldish car.

If you want the car totalled, you might want to let them know ( before they start work) that you plan on filing a DV claim, it may put you over the threshold for a total. You easily have $1,500 in DV. How many miles do you have on the car?

75,000.

Then again, I let my BMWCCA membership run out, so I'm a year away from getting my $1000 discount back, plus BMW isn't doing the Ultimate Drive promotion at the moment, which is historically another $700 incentive. It's hard to say whether it's better to wait or move.

On my crash a while back I got $2000 for diminished value just by asking. No hassle at all.

I picked up the car today.

Grand total was $11,627.38.

It looks perfect; everything visible (plus a few things not) forward of the A pillars is new. Brand new front end on the car. The clear mask application is a notably better job than the previous one had been, which is one nice thing.

I might have been excited to get something new, but I'm pretty excited just to get this car back after a month.

I am guessing it cost so much because of the PDC and wheel damage, my old car had the hood, front bumper, both headlights, radiator supports replaced - grand total? $7000

It's lot money insurance paid, since this car does worth at most 12,000 dollars. It's not surprise why insurance is so expansive in now days.

I'd at least ask for diminished value.

When you add in the month of rental car expense, I'm surprised they didn't total it.

What kind of rental did you get?

Dodge Dart. Not a terrible chassis (Fiat technology) but it was extremely basic and brutally slow.

I have another car I was mostly driving anyway, so I didn't complain about it.

Yes you are right. I heard good things about Dart, but it's not BMW.

A big "Welcome Home" to your car. Glad to hear that you got it back. Estimate seems reasonable.

And I was hoping to get that exhaust from you

Seriously though, glad to hear that your car is back and like new. What shop did the work? I'm in Denver too and I always have taken my cars to SVE when high quality body/paint was needed, but would love to hear of any good shops in town.

It was BodyWorks by Murray Motors. They appear to have done a great job.
