Alpina Appearance

I was just at the BMW dealership picking up a part and saw an Alpina pull up in the service department. And...... WOW! That is one sexy freaking car!! So I started thinking,

Are there body kits to give my 2004 525 that "Alpina look"? From the bumper body kits to the rear spoiler. I would just LOVE to have one but I just know its probably out of my range. So figured I do the next best thing. Make an imitation.

The Aplina kit is available in the US, but you probably saw an Alpina B7 (7 series) - since the B5 (5 series) is not available here in the US. The Europeans have a real beast in the B5, it's a 535 tuned to 510HP as I recall.
That said, there are no replica Alpina parts I have ever seen, and real Alpina parts are ridiculously expensive - the Alpina front lip (they don't have a full bumper) is around $1800 unpainted.

I can see why they are so expensive. Just walking by it I practically got a....... Nevermind....

How about just the rear trunk spoiler to start off with?

LOl, in the right color they do look really good. The rear spoiler is about $1000 unpainted.

Told ya, Alpina stuff is unique and looks good, but it sure isn't cheap.

The B5 actually had the same engine as the B7.

I will probably be going for RD Sport spoiler from Trinity Autosport. It looks slightly different than the ACS and I like it. (plus there is no way I would spend $1k on a friggin spoiler)

Actually it's a 545i with a supercharger, with around 500bhp and 510lbft

You are almost correct, I was thinking of the new Alpina B5 - it is a V8 (based on the F10 550).

How was the fitment? Did you apply it with just the 3M double sided tape or did you use Betalink from the BMW dealer?

You can do an advanced search on ebay and search by seller, then just go to their store.

It fits perfect! I just used the 3M two sided tape supplied and a little silicone that came with it.

I only got the rear.

I just completed my Alpina front and rear spoilers plus wheels on my E64. Looks great! Here is the US distributor. I got the wheels on special from them almost 40% off. Euroactive.com Justin has a good connection.

Correct. The E60 B5 Alpina is an 06 545. They add super charger and FMIC, reprogram the transmission software, add Brembo big brake kit, etc.
The downside is cost of the car and fuel economy.
I never liked their wheels. Too many spokes, too fussy. But the engine is a beast for sure. It's like an M5 with massive torque!

In Sep 2012, at the car show in Hilton Head SC, I was able to test drive an Alpina B7. List price: $134,000. Top speed: 193 MPH. Mofre comfortable than any HOUSE I have lived in. It was intoxicating. Stretch your 'someday' order, lust or covet, that is one nice car!!!
