Android "JellyBean" version 4.1.2 is rolling out for Verizon RAZR, RAZR Maxx and RAZR HD and other models and an unadvertised feature is finally enabled; the Message Access Profile (MAP) and the Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP, PBA).
If you have a limited Bluetooth phone like mine, you probably experienced that the Office functions are limited, getting Text only if you are lucky. To get the feature on Motorola RAZR, in Android, check Settings > About Phone and see if you have an update available. The working version is shown here. Jellybean demo http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=dvufUYiWjfU Once you have it installed, re-pair the phone to Bluetooth in your BMW and during the pairing process watch your phone for permission dialogs to allow the two BT profiles. You should see this when the update is installed in the About Phone screen. On the Control Display you see a new option like this: ![]() And your messages look like this: ![]() This may seem like no big deal if you have another phone that works, but for those who have been suffering without having an email reader (yes it uses text to speech on emails) it is a welcome feature. Email can show multiple accounts. If you want to try getting an early release of this update, try this link: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/to...-to-keep-root/ Calendar, Notes and Tasks are still not working however there may be a patch for that also. Alternatively, you can take another approach by having a PC toggled to your I-Drive. Read the blog on my signature if interested:

This is great news thank you. I've been prompted by my phone for the update but was not aware of this benefit. I've been waiting for this....

Is your Android version the same as the one I posted?

Well, I was really excited at the prospect of finally having this functionality. I have tried several things and I'm still unable to get it to work.
My Android version is a little different than the one above so I'm going to equate my inability to make this work to Verizon. My version is 9.8.20-72_VZW-16. I have no other updates available. When I repaired my phone I had a single profile transfer request and of course accepted it. Has anyone been able to get this to work beyond the op? |

Hi, I have a different android phone (AT&T One X+, 4.1.1 operating system). I get texts and emails, but only emails from the Mail client which I use for work, and not the Gmail client. Is there a way to configure the phone on which emails display?
