RPM at highway speeds

I was told that the M3 E90 rev's at 4000rpm while at 70mph in highest gear.
I am looking to buy a 335d or M3, still gathering information

I'm at about 3k rpm at 70 in the 6MT. 4k seems pretty high, even for a 3.85:1 rear end.

4k is too high... closer to 3k at 70 mph in 7th on my DCT.

I reckon about 3k at 70ish, 6MT, last I checked.

Looked today, about 2,950 at 70.

I checked as well today I'm around 2600-2700 @ 70mph.......DCT with a Dinan Tune...............Phil

Interesting...I have a D900-40M installed by the PO, myself. So is the difference in RPM at 70 due to MT vs. DCT... I guess. Never thought about this before...

Around 70, I'm close to 3,000 RPM in 7th gear with the DCT.

A 335d is barely turning 2200 at 70 mph.

DCT 70mph at 2700 RPM.

Thank you guys, I am looking to change to a M3 or 335D, the 4K as i read in a car magazine scared me! 2K7 seems reasonable.
Why M3 or 335D, I have a 16 mile commute but it is stop and go! the 335D's torque would probably give more satisfaction, but then look at the M3, it gives satisfaction even when you'r enot driving it.
