Sound system not working
Hi all -
I have a BMW X5 3.0i with a standard radio/CD system (No GPS or anything). Anyway, it turns on and I can see everything on the display; however, the volume isn't working. I have tried increasing it via the knob as well as the steering wheel control. Please advise ASAP. Thanks, D |

Hello dkhan4,
I am suffering a similar type issue, but i do get the right side speakers working. Out of interest, did your stereo just all of a sudden start doing this? Or was it after any kind of work preformed on the vehicle? |

Hi the problem your having is the dreaded bm54 the amp that can be found under the spare wheel . I to had this problem sound coming just out of the left side then it went altogether ,luckilyenough after some google homework and eBay found a guy just round the corner from me who replaced the inside circuit board and added a auxiliary lead aswell for £99 BMW want around £500 for a new one.
