Help me pick a colour for my X3 35i M-Sport

I thought I capable of making this decision on my own but the responses I've received to my questions to this point have been helpful so I thought I'd open this up to discussion.

What colour do you guys recommend for a new X3 35i M-Sport? I can't help but think that I'd be making a mistake by not going with the carbon black that's an option on the M-Sport package. We'll likely go with the oyster interior so that might narrow our options a bit.

What do your x3's look like? Photos?

Carbon Black is a great choice as long as you're okay with the necessisty of added cleaning that comes with owning a black car. if you've owned a black car before and are good with this definitely go for it! Great color- looks black at certain angles and blue at other angles.

My X3 M Sport is Vermilion Red with Oyster and it's really sharp. My 535i is Black Sapphire and my Z4 M Sport is Deep Sea Blue. The Black Sapphire is my least favorite, but that's just me.

OP, you'll find wide-ranging opinions on the question of exterior color. Look at the link as provided by noka. Narrow it down to 2-3 choices and visit a local dealer (or two) to see it in natural light. Some colors look really good in a controlled environment but less so in sunlight.

If you want a little more precise feedback, I started a pair of survey threads a few months ago where I tried to filter out the colors people chose that were compromises between two people.

Great advice here. Go on a sunny day and buzz around the dealer's parking lot without a salesperson in your face. Natural light will allow you to see the true colors- show room lights distort color and you won't have a salesperson hovering over you.

Internet pictures and brochures just don't portray the true colors. There are 3 different blacks for the X3 and they are quite different. BMW came up with a brand new blue color for the X1 and it looks totally different in person- great color by the way. I'd like to see it on the 3 Series- as that might be my next BMW.

I'm partial to deep sea blue - but I think white looks amazing on the M-Sport too. Really makes the details of the M-Sport front and rear stand out.

I agree that Alpine White looks nice but I changed my order because I didn't like the looks of the black rivets in the white wheel wells. I think the design would look much better with white rivets on that one.

You mean on the inside? I think most people won't notice - but they're plastic, pull em out and a little bit of paint will fix that right up.

Yes, just on the inside. Too much contrast for me. I went with my original choice, Space Gray and I'm not disappointed.
