BMW ED trips

Has anyone done the BMW sponsored trips through Germany? In particular the black forest drive? I was curious on impressions, worthwhile, or easier to do ourselves? V/r, Tim

Mein Auto: E60 M5,
Outrageously priced, same trip for MB ED is $1300 per couple. BMW last time I checked was $2750.00 per person. Do it yourself.

+1 on DIY, part of the fun is planning it yourself, save a lot and have a more authentic experience. It is a long wait for the trip and it helps the time go by easier. First figure out what kind of trip you want, traveling with family/children and their needs, do you prefer small towns or larger cities, b & b or more tourist oriented hotels, drive a lot or mix it up, etc. Start plotting some destinations on the map on googlemaps, or even better for Europe travel is viamichelin.com. Once you have a preliminary plan, you can post it here and you will get tons of advise from people who have been there and know the ins and outs, what to do and what to avoid. It is like starting with a raw piece of marble and chiseling away until you have your perfect plan. Good luck!
