How many Laguna Seca Blue M3's are out there
I'm about to graduate college and want to purchase an M3 in Laguna Seca Blue.. I cannot find a single one anywhere in the country.. I'd rather it be a convertible but really have no preference.
I've really only seen one for sale in the past year or two when I looked.. it was really high mileage though.. So how rare are these? Now that I'm in the market for one, could it take years to find a decent one with low mileage? Anyone know about how many are out there? |

AutoTrader.com is a good source to watch; also Enthusiast Auto seems to have a good reputation and gets Laguna Seca Blue E46 M3's in from time to time. Enthusiast Auto might even be able to help you locate one if you contact them directly and tell them what you're searching for; they might have resources for locating specific vehicles that would not otherwise be available to an individual like you or me. Of course, if they (or any other specialty dealer) go to all the trouble of finding one for you, the expectation is you will buy it from them as well... So it might put you at something of a disadvantage in negotiating price unless you specify up front what you're willing to pay... Good luck!

I have a 2004 M3 in LSB. It's a coupe with about 105k on it. Has the SMGII tranny. All stock, if you're still looking I may sell for the right price. I bought it with the intent to mod it up, but can't bring myself to actually mess with it.

I love it as well, but mine's all stock 100% and I would hate to ruin it by modding it up, and I'm a tuner type, so it kills me that I'm not out there changing parts every weekend - torture. Truthfully I'd rather sell mine and buy one cheap that's busted up a bit so I don't feel as bad modding it. I really think I'd like a hard top Z4M in LSB. I've seen one ever and it was online.

check craigslist
There is one is St. Louis: http://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/3104828945.html
and one in Denver: http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/3064186552.html Both have over 100K on them though.

I would also check the other BMW enthusiast forums. Some folks may list a car only on one of these sites.
for example http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=413353 e46fanatics.com also has a good for sale section

I saw an unofficial poll where just over 3% of M3 owners that had responded had LSB. Take from that it was an older poll and the number of LSB's wrecked or irreveribly modded and I would say they're pretty rare.
